Program Manager within the Telecom Program Management Team located in the China Design Engineering facility in Shenzhen.

Ø    Job Description:

·              Overall responsibility of planning, directing, controlling, structuring, and motivating a Telecom development project Team.

·              Cooperate and communicate on regular basis with customers, Design and Factory involved on given programs

·              Understand organization structure, policies, processes and procedures. 

·       Participate and contribute to product  RFQ or Kick-Off

·       Ensures completion of all required deliverables and documentation

·       Schedules Key/Milestones meetings as needed with customer or internal Dept.

·              Prepares and presents the Key/Milestones presentation charts at Review meetings with customers and other internal Dept

·              Maintains and updates key project information, timelines and metrics as changes occur and/or once per month

 

Ø    Requirements:

·       Mechanical or Electrical Bachelor Degree(or above)

·       Business or communication degree an asset

·       At least 4 year experience designing electronic products

·       Program Management experience or equivalent is necessary(2 year +)

·       PMP Certification is an asset

 

Ø    Skill:

·       Good knowledge of Program Management industry standards

·       Strong analytical and problem solving skills in Program Management field

·       Demonstrated leadership

·              Make and act on tough decisions with the speed and sense of urgency needed to stay with or ahead      of the market, competition and customer needs, or to improve the organization.

·       Ability to work and interface with customers and various organizations, departments etc.

Ja적지 않은 분들이 중국에서 취업하고 싶은데, HSK시험을 보지 않았고 중국어도 잘 모르는데 중국에서 어떻게 회사생활을 하냐고 하시는데, 중국에서의 취업 중국어가 필수일가요?

제 개인적인 생각은 중국어를 몰라도 중국에서 취업이 가능하다는것입니다.

물론 중국본토 기업에 취직할려면 반드시 중국어를 알아야 합니다. 회의는 물론 커뮤니케이션, 문서 등등이 모두 중국어로 되어있는데, 다국적기업에는 중국어 몰라도 취직이 가능하다는것입니다.

예를 들면, 제가 몸 담고 있는 회사의 HR Executive 및 기타 중요한 Position에 Korean이 업무를 담당하고 있는 경우가 있습니다. 처음에는 중국어를 어느 정도 잘 하는줄 알았는데 알고 보니 간단한 인사말 외에는 중국어를 전혀 모른다는 점입니다.

그럼 왜서 가능할가요? 다 뻔한 스토리겠지만 다국적기업에는 영어가 공통 언어 이기때문에 회사 메일, 각종 문서, 교육자료 등등이 모두 영어로 되어있고 미팅할 때 미국인, 인도인, 한국인, 일본인 등등 여러나라에서 온 사람들이 참여하는 경우가 많아서 사용하는 언어 역시 영어입니다. 저 같은 경우는 처음 입사할 때 메일이 모두 영어로 되어 있어서 적응시간이 좀 필요했습니다. 저한테는 중국어나 한국어가 더욱 편한데 말이죠. 하지만 지금 돌이켜보면 그게 저의 영어를 제고하는데 아주 큰 도움을 준것 같습니다.

영어를 놓고 볼때 한국에서는 서울대에서 주최한 TEPS시험을 보지만, 중국에서는 영어 4급,6급 이런 종류의 시험을 봅니다. 다국적 기업에서는 TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS 이런 영어 시험 성적을 더욱 선호하는 편입니다. 중국과 비교할 때 한국에서 토익 시험을 아주 많이 보는 편인데 글로벌 기업에서도 토익 성적은 알아주는 편입니다. 물론 성적이 최소한 730점은 넘어야겠죠? 제가 다니고 있는 회사는 사원들에게 토익 시험을 치룰것을 권장하며 토익 교육비 지원을 해서 학원의 선생님을 초청해서 단체학습반을 만들어서 시험 공부 준비를 지원하고 있습니다. 물론 만약 처음 토익 시험을 본다면 시험 비용을 대신 지불합니다.

물론 중국에서 생활 하려면 기본적인 생활용 중국어는 알아두는것이 좋습니다. 하지만 이런 중국어는 중국 현지에서 살다보면 인차 배울 수 있다고 생각합니다. 그리고 상해는 특이하게 중국에서 유일하게 영어가 좀 통하는 곳이기도 합니다. 얼마전에 중국 상해(상하이)에서 1,2년 정도 근무하던 한국인이 중국 북방의 도시 대련으로 가서 근무하게 되었는데, 저를 만나더니 상해에서 생활할 때 영어하면 좀 통해서 생활하는데 크게 지장이 없었는데 대련은 영어가 거의 통하지 않는 다고 하더라구요. 물론 회사는 같은 다국적 기업이기에 회사 생활은 전혀 지장이 없다고 합니다.

물론 영어만 잘 한다고 해서 중국에 진출한 다국적 기업에 취직할 수 있다는것은 아닙니다. 현재 글로벌 기업을 놓고 봐도 경력이 없는 신입사원보다 경력사원을 많이 뽑기때문에 일정한 회사 경력이 있으면 취직하는데 아주 큰 도움이 됩니다.

물론 적지 않은 다국적 기업의 면접은 1차, 2차, 3차... 처음부터 끝까지 쭉 영어로 진행하는 경우가 많습니다. 만약 글로벌 기업의 한국 관련된 Position을 지원한다면 native한 한국어를 알기때문에 아주 큰 우세가 될수 있습니다. 아시다 싶이 중국에 진출한 한국 기업뿐만 아니라 미국이나 유럽쪽의 기업들도 한국 관련된 position이 많기때문에 이런 position에 지원해도 입사할 가능성이 많습니다. 예를 들면, DELL, HP, IBM 등 회사는 중국 대련에 한국 관련된 업무를 하고 있습니다.

중국에서의 취업, 생각처럼 어려운 것은 아닙니다.

Responsibilities:

·           Represent EMC and communicate with corporate customers via telephone, written correspondence, or electronic service in regard to finding solutions for technically complex problems identified in EMC products.

·           Solve highly complex level of problems, involving broad, in-depth product knowledge or in-depth product specialty; that may include support of additional product line.  Frequently, these problems will not only be technically complex, but will be politically charged situations requiring the highest level of customer skill.

·           Responsible for efficiently managing the relationship with these customers and thoroughly documenting their cases.

Work Experience Requirements:

• Three (3) years or more of network storage or backup applications technical support experience or similar work experience in supporting network security products.
• A minimum of four (4) years of technical support experience in supporting products at the enterprise level.
• Strong working knowledge in the area of storage technologies such as RAID, Fiber Channel, Tape Libraries and Backup Software.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with proven ability in trouble shooting, resolution of the issues and debug data analysis. Preferably with work experience in using network analyzers and trouble shooting.
• Architectural understanding of one or more operating systems (NT, HPUX, Solaris, AIX, Linux, NetWare)
• Architectural understanding of one or more relational databases (Oracle, SQL, Sybase, Informix, Lotus Notes)

Skills Requried:

 

• Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge with major software/hardware vendor support methodology and procedures as well as a good working knowledge of Unix and storage.
